Fred's Firearms

Earlier this year I purchased a Mauser Luger (all matching) 1940 pistol as a collectors piece via an online auction site from Freds Firearms for a total of $1781. There were 33 pictures on this listing, all showed the pistol in great condition. What was left off of ANY picture or ANY description was the large engraving on the pistol grip, shown in pictures below. I asked to return the pistol (all correspondence in pics below). He first asked for a 20% restocking fee (over $300). Then he wanted me to eat every cost both ways (a $281 loss) I found this ridiculous since it was his omission that prompted the issue. A major obvious carving into the handle was left out of 33 pictures of the pistol. I think this is at worst fraudulent and at best negligent, and was totally shocked by the outcome. After six months of waiting for remediation through the auction site, I am now pursuing other options (small claims court). I would AVOID this shop at all cost, but if you are buying anything from this shop I would exercise extreme caution
