I’ve actually been to the shop once in person and had a very pleasant experience speaking with Ian — he was helpful, professional, and easy to deal with. That part was great. Unfortunately my recent phone call was the complete opposite. I called to ask about converting a California-compliant AR-15 back to a standard configuration. The employee who answered (PJ) was unnecessarily rude and dismissive from the start: - He cut me off mid-sentence with a sharp “what’s your question?” before I could even finish explaining the situation. - When I asked what their specific safety/drop-off protocol is for bringing in a rifle (I clearly stated it would be unloaded and in a locked case), he answered in a sarcastic tone as if I had asked something stupid like whether I could bring it loaded. That wasn’t my question at all — I was just trying to confirm I was 100% following their procedures out of respect for their shop rules. - When I calmly said his tone felt rude and dismissive, he responded with “you’re entitled to your feelings,” which came across as condescending instead of addressing the issue. I understand gun shops get a lot of calls, but basic courtesy (letting someone finish a sentence, answering a reasonable safety question without sarcasm, not belittling a customer who’s trying to do things the right way) should be standard. Because of the positive in-person experience with Ian, I’m leaving 2 stars instead of 1. But the phone interaction was bad enough that I won’t be calling again and would hesitate to recommend the shop to others who might need to do business over the phone.

You'll find good-hearted folks willing to help with everything from the most basic questions to hardcore tactical solutions. They offer reasonable prices and an outstanding inventory. What you won't find is the typical arrogant and unhelpful staff often found at other gun shops in this area. At Wex Gunworks, you're treated with respect regardless of whether you're looking for a top-of-the-line $3,000 weapon or your spouse is a beginner trying to find the right pistol. The staff here is incredibly dedicated. They spent over an hour with my wife, answering her questions, suggesting different firearms, explaining the pros and cons of each as a carry option, and much more. I was impressed, and more importantly, my wife was happy (happy wife, happy life!). This little shop tucked away in a shopping plaza is clean, well-stocked, and has knowledgeable staff who are helpful regardless of your budget. They literally have everything you could hope for, except for a shooting range. Give these folks a try. You won't be disappointed!
