Academy Sports + Outdoors

I randomly walked in and was looking for things for a game room. I wish I could remember the ladies name that helps me a week ago (older, female, Africa American). She was so helpful, even helped me get the item I wanted from Orlando. Customer service was great and I would come back again!!

Great product poor customer service in the new store in Lakeland. So I go to the register in the firearms section. There is a Academy employee behind the register staring at the computer.. There is a customer near the register. I stand right in front of the register. I stand and politely wait to be recognized. There were 2 guns leaning against the counter waiting on background checks. I waited a good 10 minutes. I asked the customer to my left waiting near the register if he was waiting in line. He said he was waiting on the results of a background check. Finally i was greeted by the Academy employee who asked if I was picking up. I said yes. I showed him my order number and he said he was really busy that he would come back to me. He goes and waits on other people. Two other employees arrive chatting it up at the register. The first guy has not come back yet. The 2 new guys follow the same protocol. I stand there right in front of the register being ignored while they have a good ole time. I think its a great idea to spend time at Academy. I wish I had more time to shop. Rural King in Lake Wales works just fine for me.
