This place has a great manager but a lousy worker. I should have known it was a credit check but my mind was on the gifts and all she said was she could save me 30 bucks that day and all she needed was my license!!! It wouldn't have been so bad if she wouldn't have lied about it. Guess next time ill ask them to speak up and repeat everything again so I can record her next time I guess. Oh well, definitely my fault for being someone's fool. Manager definitely needs a raise though bushes was very nice and helpful after everything

Had the worst shopping experience I've had in a long time at Academy in Pensacola, FL. Visited location on Davis Hwy the Sunday after Thanksgiving to purchase a firearm that was on sale. Was advised that could not purchase in store and had to purchase online. Bummer, so purchased online and site advised could pick up on December 10th. In between those dates, I got a notification from my bank that there was a fraudulent charge for the same amount of the purchase on my card. Called bank and they said there was indeed a second charge for the same purchase from Academy. So bank shutdown card and had to issue new card to be mailed to me and would not receive till after Christmas. Went back to Academy on December 10th to pickup. Had to deal with the pain of their QR code to get in line to be helped. Not tech savvy so asked associate if I was in line and did it correct. Associate happened to be the dept. manager Lourie. She just stared at me with a blank stare. Showed her my phone and she said yes then walked away. Her attitude was anything but pleasant. When it came time to pay, Lourie asked for the same card used to purchase online. I had the card and attempted to explain the fraudulent notification from my bank. She would not even listen and cut me off mid sentence. Said she did not care and did not want to hear it. She told the other associate to switch to pay in store and moved on to the next task. Did the paperwork for the background check and was told would have to wait 3 days to take possession of the product. Haven't been that mad in a long time. Kept getting sms notifications that my order was ready for pick up and then the night before received notification my order was canceled. Visited store at their open time to avoid the QR code to get in line debacle and picked up product. Which still took 30min while waiting for manager to show up and sign off on purchase. This was one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had. Lourie does not need to be assisting customers with the attitude she had. Would rather spend the extra cost to buy from a local independent store just to avoid the hassle and bad customer service. Will never spend another dime of my money at Academy.
