I am documenting an extremely frustrating and dishonest experience that reflects serious management failure. An item was marked “clearance,” yet when questioned, Manager Todd openly admitted the store raised the price by $20 and then discounted it so it could be labeled as such. That is not a sale—it’s price manipulation. Calling this a clearance is misleading and insulting to customers’ intelligence. Todd showed no effort to correct the issue, no accountability, and no concern for how deceptive this practice appears. If this is acceptable behavior, it’s a company problem. If it’s not, Todd should not be managing customers. The checkout experience only reinforced the poor management. Long lines were left completely unmanaged, with no urgency, no communication, and no additional registers opened. Customers’ time was clearly not a priority. Between deceptive pricing and disorganized checkout, this store appears misleading, poorly run, and indifferent to its customers. This experience significantly damaged my trust in Academy Sports.

Great variety, neat displays. Really good prices. Nice friendly staff. I gave 4 stars due to low inventory on items. I asked why and was told academy had gone to smaller delivery trucks!
