On 11/29/25 we called to inquire about the inventory for the The Savage Axis XP .308 Win Bolt-Action Rifle we produced the SKU number as well. We held on the phone for over 30 min. FInally the lady that answers the customer service number asked the manager to assist. We explained they were showing 2 online but we knew from the Albany store if they were in back ground they couldn't be sold we needed to ensure the gun was available to purchase. Placed back on hold 5 to 10 minutes and we were told they had "plenty" I questioned that b/c again only 2 online and they said they had plenty... before all this started I told them we would be making a 2.5 trip and just needed to be sure.... so with "plenty" we headed out. Once we arrived.... we were told none ALL SOLD OUT and had been. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I cant imagine this is what corporate expects of their staff. Regrettably I did not get either of there names but we called about 4 PM.

Customer Service hard to find and not overly friendly. Checkout line was 7 or 8 people deep and 2 registers open. After 6 or so more got in line, 2 more register people came to help.

They need their firearm policy to be somewhere besides on the damg door that opens as soon as you walk up and people have NO CLUE ABOUT IT.

Answer: Exactly, and their customer service and attention to customers isn't worth squat!

Answer: I bought 12 firearms from this Academy Sports location in Valdosta from handguns, shotguns and semi auto rifles. I never had a problem. You go to the gun section you ask for what type of gun you want to buy or look at, they will ask to hold on to your driver's license even if you just want to hold a gun. But when you want to buy a gun you still give them your license or concealed weapon permit even though Georgia doesn't require concealed carry anymore. I use my driver's license every time I buy a firearm there. The background check takes about 5 minutes then you wait for an employee to escort you to the front to pay aka "gun runner" you pay for the gun then the gun runner will walk you out to the store's exit doors then hand you over your new firearm on your way out the door. That's how simple it is to buy a firearm. I walk in the store all the time open carrying my side arm. I never have any issues at Academy. They got great staff and customer service is wonderful!

Answer: I have bought two guns from them. My experience was all positive both times.The employees were helpful and professional.

Answer: I've never had any issues with gun policies nor customer service. They have their policies posted at the front as well as at the gun counter. I've seen plenty of customers give great reviews on the employee's there.

why is the valdosta ga not properly stocked. the store is always out. WHY

Answer: Lots of people are preparing for civil unrest for the upcoming elections. They stay stocked up but people are constantly buying stuff online as soon as the new shipments come in. So before you even get a chance to get ammo you're looking for, most of the time regular online customers buy it because they get online notifications as soon as new shipments/inventory are in stock. Then the employees put online customer orders aside for curbside pickup. It's best to go there early when they first open up. But even when I go early sometimes things are still out of stock. Shopping and ordering online on Academy Sports website is your best bet. Walking in the store nowadays is hit or miss options available.
