This makes NO SENSE. None. Went in to buy my daughter a pair of cheer shoes and the ticket price in store said $34.99. The online said $27.99. I was out of town and instead of price matching they told me in order to get that price I HAD to order online and come back later and pick it up. Then we see this on their sign. You can price match other places but not your own? My local academy DOES price match. According to the worker and manager the head chief at their store does not allow this. Just for this inconvenience I left the store without the shoes. Such a greedy way to do business.

Went to Academy Sports to buy some 12-gauge ammo. The shelf clearly showed a price of $9.99 — and the boxes were not only directly in front of the tag, but also to the left and right of it. There was no other price tag anywhere for that product At checkout, it rang up $18.99. I told the cashier it was marked $9.99 and she called for a price check. I had to wait through an already long and chaotic line, then wait again for someone to show up. When they did, I walked back with them and showed the shelf. Instead of owning the mistake, the employee argued with me and said the price “wasn’t for that ammo” and that they place prices to the right. That logic makes no sense when the product is literally surrounding the tag. Still, they refused to honor the shelf price. No apology, no solution — just excuses and attitude. Total waste of time. Won’t be back.
