Range USA Southaven

Jan 13 2026 was my first time going to a gun range. I first called to see what was expected beforehand. Ed communicated with me over the phone giving me the run down on everything. Ed personality was very good and pleasant. Once I arrived I was assisted by a young man asking was this my first time and then explained that I had to watch a quick video and sign a waiver. Once signing the waiver I was approached by another man which assisted in asking if I had a firearm, earplugs, eye protection and ammunition. I had my own personal firearm and purchased ammunition, paper targets and rented ear protection. I was then given a receipt with a lane number. I was sort of thrown off because I was like where is my trainer 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣🤣🤣. But I went through the doors and stood at my lane with my gear. Maybe five minutes later a man named Jeremiah approached me asking if he could assist me. I said yes he then asked if I purchased paper targets. I replied saying yes but I didn’t receive any. Jeremiah then escorted me to the paper targets and let me choose which ones I wanted. We then returned inside the shooting area. Jeremiah first showed me how to properly hold the gun as far as where to have my fingers and how to grip properly. Next I was trained on how to properly load the clip. Once he got me comfortable enough he taught me how to look at the white dot and the flat opening on top of the gun as far as aligning with the target. I began my first round of shots which I was very nervous 😬. Jeremiah was very patient and was right there to point out and help with any mistakes I made. Jeremiah was very polite, patient , helpful and friendly. I left with a smile and feeling as if I made an A+ . I really appreciate and enjoyed my experience on this day. I will be returning soon. Overall great place but they need to figure out a better way to help patrons who have already paid when they need to purchase more amunition or want to change rental. I paid for 1 hour for my 17 yo and when he ran out of ammunition I went to purchase more, when I walked out of lane we had 28 mins left, they had 1 lady at register helping a group of 4 and 2 other employees either watching or standing by. I wasted over 15 mins just standing there waiting to be served much less acknowledged. I finally decided I had enough of being ignored and walked back in to collect my son and return rental. They could've made a few more bucks but apparently they didn't want it or need it. Very disappointed as I like this range but staff is to be desired.
