My week old crossbow broke. I tried reaching out to the manufacturer without any luck. I called Academy and spoke with a nice representative in the hunting dept. I explained we had an expensive hunting trip coming up and I needed to figure out something. They said that they normally don't take back bows. But he could do a defective product return and I could get another bow for my trip. I get to the store and the front manager immediately told me they do not return bows. Making it sound like I didn't talk to anyone at the store. After I was already told to bring it back and wasting an hour trip. back. I still have not got the issue fixed from the manufacturer or the store. Ended up buying another crossbow from Bass Pro Shops for our hunting trip.

Had a nice experience this afternoon. At first it was upsetting, while checking out, I did not realize that my Academy credit card had expired. I’m not sure how it expired, (I never received notification in a form of a letter or email) but I quickly jumped to call the credit card company while I was standing at the register and applied for a new card. Thankfully it was an instant approval. Our son is leaving for a study abroad in a few days and he needed outdoor clothing for the Arabian peninsula which is basically desert like weather. We came in for Columbia clothing; however, Magellan apparel, made exclusively for Academy, was an economical choice and with our new credit card we received a nice discount. Our cashier, Aubrey B. was wonderful! Simply a delight. Friendly & most helpful. I highly recommend this store for sports & outdoor needs. Josephine
