Update 02/12/2026: I've now had the best experience I've ever had at the Cabelas Avon Ohio store. The GM, Juanita was very helpful and went above and beyond my expectations exhibiting a high level of customer service listening to my concerns and answering my questions. The two gun counter gentlemen, Carmen and Brian were also very helpful and I appreciated their professionalism. I feel confident in returning to the store and that I will be treated as a valued customer. Previous post- I’ve shopped at the Avon Ohio store for decades and just had the worst experience at the gun counter. I’ve seen the recent reviews on Yelp specifically about this department which have been very poor. The manager that I dealt with in that department was not friendly, helpful or customer service oriented. Also, the gun library is closed to customers very often and is closed up two hours before the store closes. I’ve shared feedback to the store specifically about this only to see it get even worse. It was such a poor experience at the gun counter that I’m not sure that I will ever go back. I will see how Cabelas customer service responds.

Bought the pond prowler 10 yesterday and thought I’d share my experience. Both James and Vince were awesome to work with from the start. James went outside to verify they had one in stock for me and had all the paperwork started and boat ready when I got there. Vince has the same boat and he gave me plenty of sound advice and made sure I was good to get out on the water. Left feeling like I made a few friends. Just wanted to say thank you to both of them for the great customer service and guidance
