Academy Sports + Outdoors

This used to be my favorite store for fun, sports, hunting and fishing. Unlike Dick's- I felt something on my shoulder at my last visit and haven't been back. Moreover, I was looking forward to a good shopping experience until I saw the item I was eyeballing cost $50 more. The store in Norman was $50 less. You know I took off running for $50. I was fast than superman and flash. I guess I came on the day the restock truck had not arrived. This particular area i was shopping was bare, cabinets did not have a good selection. It was like I am forced to buy what I dont want. I am thinking of my favorite Pawn Shop at this time. I said nah- left fly to Norman Ok and check out that store. I hopped onto my trusted white Pegasus and flew there like a chicken that saw green snake. Ill be back after Christmas, to see if things improve or the atmosphere is a lot better.

I will never step foot in the Southside store ever again! As a long time shopper of that location that store and staff has gone down hill. We go in that location once a week some times three time on the weekend and buy all of our hunting and fishing equipment. Over the weekend I purchased a .22 caliber rifle and two bags of deer corn. Spending around four hundred dollars. First off the kid that sold me the gun took the magazine out of the gun I didn't notice it got to where we was shooting an hour away got a call saying they had it. Second they put some cheap scope on wrong looked at the booklet and come to find out that gun doesn't come with a scope it comes with a adjustable windage/elevation sight which wasn't in the box so today I called and had a guy and girl tell me thats not the way it came then the guy got an attitude with me started asking well did you pay for the scope I told him it came with the gun that the kid that sold it to me said tbe store put it on the gun. He said the store doesn't do that and which I know they do my son and a friend of ours worked there and said they do make bundles anyway he told me that the booklet was wrong and that it doesn't came with one . Also the bags of corn had rat shit on them! So I will spend my money at Basspro! Sorry Academy but you lost a long time customer!
