Nice Store. Well stocked. Friendly staff. Had very large selections of camping and grilling items. Nice addition to the local shopping selection. Just a few pictures from inside the store. Wish I would have had more time to shop and get more pictures.

Sportsman’s Warehouse in Parkersburg West Virginia wrongly denied a lawful firearm sale to my uncle simply because he is a Florida resident. The staff at the gun counter, along with the store manager, even called their compliance center—and all of them insisted Florida’s 3-day waiting period applied. That is a clear misinterpretation of the law. Federal law (18 U.S.C. § 922(b)(3) allows licensed dealers to sell rifles and shotguns to residents of other states as long as the sale complies with both states’ laws. West Virginia law (W. Va. Code § 61-7-10) has no waiting period for long guns—only a passed NICS background check. Florida’s waiting period statute (§ 790.0655, Fla. Stat.) applies only to purchases made inside Florida. It has no effect in West Virginia. We drove over an hour to this store specifically because they had the firearm he wanted, only to be turned away due to their misreading of the law. By confusing Florida’s rules with West Virginia’s, Sportsman’s Warehouse blocked a legal transaction that federal and state law clearly permit. This shows either poor training or a lack of understanding of the very laws they are responsible for following. Customers deserve better.
