Academy Sports + Outdoors

Very disappointed with my recent experience at Academy Sports. I purchased an item clearly marked with a $29.99 tag, but when I got home and checked my receipt, I realized I was charged $39.99 instead. I live an hour away from the store, so it would cost me more in gas to drive back and correct their mistake than the refund is worth. When I called the store to explain what happened, I was told there was nothing they could do about it. No solution offered, no accountability. Please check your receipts carefully and pay close attention while they’re scanning your purchases. You could easily be overcharged and not realize it until it’s too late. Very frustrating experience.

Friendly staff, well organized, and good selection of sports and outdoor stuff. Decent selection of soccer cleats and quality shin guards with padding. Teacher discount was a wonderful plus!
