The Range at 355

I don't understand the negative reviews at all. My husband and I started coming to The Range a little over a month ago. It is very clean, well lit and ventilated and the staff are all incredibly nice and welcoming. They also appear to enjoy working there and working with each other which tells me that the owners are good people to their staff. Everyone who works there generously share their knowledge too. I really enjoy going there. We go 3-4 times a week. The ladies club is fantastic too. The negative reviews regarding being watched by the RSO and all the rules actually makes me feel better about the place! Good to know they take safety seriously. It makes me feel safe! I highly recommend The Range at 355. They are a 5 star place in my book!

*Reviewing the CCL 3-Hour Renewal class* I’ve taken a few Illinois CCL classes over the years, and this one stood out in a negative way.. It opened with general criticism instead of constructive instruction, attributed to past bad students, which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. While I understand the importance of regular practice, some comments came across as judgmental and out of place for a renewal class that should focus on safe handling and legal compliance. One Range Officer supervising shooting qualifications for students using rental firearms appeared annoyed that it was a renewal class day. He was visibly impatient, and his communication was minimal and dismissive rather than instructional. There was also promotion of USCCA, with membership signup forms pre-placed at each student’s desk, which felt more like pressured marketing than optional information. The overall tone was tense and discouraging compared to other CCL classes I’ve attended. I likely won’t return for future classes.
