To start, this happened 2 years ago. Still boycotting them because it STILL makes me mad. My husband and I came in with our newborn to look at a shotgun we found online and really wanted for myself to shoot clays. We drove 1 hour here because it was on sale. I picked out the gun, and baby started crying. I tended to baby and let my husband do the inspecting of the gun, im not so fluent in guns. He’s the expert here and I trust his opinion whether we should buy it or not. He said if you like it, it seems like a nice gun, you should get it. We switch places, he takes over baby and I take over the gun and look over it. I tell the guy I like it, he asks for my id, puts it into the system then tells me he’s “refusing the sale because he thinks it’s a straw sale” Never heard of this so I had to google it. He profiled my husband and assumed he was a felon… Because he’s dressed like a blue collar man? We then told him he can see his ID also and verify he’s NOT. He said no, I’m refusing a sale. I know don’t know if he flagged my name since he clearly entered my ID, or how that works. We left, purchased the gun for myself at another store. Then called the store manager. The manager did not seem to care about how rude the employee was about it. Just said he will talk to him. We came in 6 months later, thinking let’s give it another shot. Maybe it was just one crappy employee. We walk in again, and IMMEDIATELY get followed by an old man. Through every isle, EVERY SINGLE ISLE. When we stopped to look at something, he stopped right behind of to fiddle and look busy. Until I said loudly, “I’m leaving I’m tired of this old man following us” Clearly profiling again. We refuse to ever come back. And you shouldn’t either unless you want to be harassed and profiled so obviously. It’s rude, and disrespectful to PAYING CUSTOMER. They lost at least $1,000 in sales considering we purchased the gun, basketball goal, and weight equipment elsewhere that day.
