Came in to look at a blaze orange vest and to price some other hunting items. Saw that they had a Predator call I was going to get from another store. Academy has it priced for $39.99 the other store $3.90. Was curious if they did a price match at Academy so I asked a worker. I was told by the employee the item had to be within 50 miles of the store. I looked and it's 47 miles away. Then I was told it had to be in stock at the other store. It was, then I was told it was too low to price match. I was getting the notion they didn't want to price match so my wife looked up Academys price match policy. Nowhere does it say the store has to be within 50 miles or that it needed to be in stock at the other store. So I spoke with the manager and he tried to say the same thing about being stocked at the other store. The manager had an employee call and verify the price and gave me an additional 5% off. So at the end of the day I got the price match and the 5% but at what cost? Being treated like a thief or a liar all while being lied to. That's why the 3 star. The price for the hunting vest is still the best around and it has the padded shoulders I was looking for. Had I not had to go through so much red tape for the predator call I would've purchased the vest as well.

The African American salesperson denied my niece to purchase a gun here. After he’s making her do things with the gun as if he’s teaching a CCW class. He in turn catered to a group of African American guys that had the area fuming with marijuana. So it’s safe for gangsters to purchase a gun from this place but not a female who just left the gun range today and trying to make a purchase for protection just like any one else. I will be reaching out to the news outlets and corporate!
