Well-stocked, organized store. When seasons change, be on the lookout for great clearance deals. Meanwhile, this is a good spot to pick up sporting gear for kids, hobbies, or even work gear. This visit we needed some very specific work boots and were able to find them easily because the footwear rows are labeled really well. The only reason for the four stars and not five is that their cash registers and/or internet system was having serious problems and had been having these problems for a while. They also did not schedule any cashiers to work on a weekday evening, so only one register was available and that was at the back of the store at the customer service desk. Now I will say we were finally able to make a purchase by paying cash, but not before the frustration of dealing with their system and its problems. What is different about this store, however, is the employees. They are helpful, cheerful and encouraging even when their own company is letting them struggle with misbehaving technology. It was nice to be able to see them doing their absolute best.

Terrible experience with a return / exchange. I couldn’t find my receipt but I had a picture of it and even the sale order on my academy app. Since I was past due 60 days they would only offer me under 30% of what I paid. I even offered to accept store credit and they refused. Customer service is obviously not a focus at this store. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing anything here unless you’re absolutely sure you want to keep it or that it’ll fit your items that you’re trying to combine it with.
