I was on my way to Cavender’s to buy a jacket. My husband wanted to stop at this Academy, since it was on the way. While we were there looking, we heard the store intercom mention that they do a price match for same items from another store. I found the jacket I needed and asked some employee in the back by the name of “Brandon” to check if that was true. He said they do price match and in addition, add 5%. I went to pay and the cashier said they didn’t do that. We asked for a manager because that’s what we were told by him. “Irma” came over as if we were a bother and was pretty rude as we explained and she said they didn’t do that. We mentioned that we were told that and for her to double check because we even heard that on intercom at this store. She asked to see my phone from the other store to price match. As I showed her, she grabbed my phone and slammed it against the counter. I confronted her about being upset as she said she wasn’t and I told her she was because she had the nerve to slam my phone on the counter. I told her whatever her problem was that she needed to be informed about what the stores policy is. She then said that Brandon didn’t know anything and he was wrong and had just transferred to this store. I expressed that “they” all needed to be on the same page as far as policies and didn’t need to slam my phone because she was upset about something she wasn’t aware of. By then, I did become firm and was done being calm and told her I was going to write a review. She then realized “I” was upset and done being nice as I changed my tone and educated her on what the policy was. She quickly changed her attitude and was trying to apologize and started some random conversation as I completely ignored her. She tried to talk to my husband as if that would make anything better because he didn’t care what she had to say after she was being rude. While waiting for another manager, she began talking about that manager’s boots that made noise as she walks down the isle because they were too big for her. Irma needs to stop being rude when it comes to the appearance of other employees. Anyhow, she also needs to be aware of the store’s policy if she is indeed is a manager and needs to stop getting upset when customers ask questions. It’s not my fault that I educated her about the store policy. I won’t go back to this Academy since several employees didn’t know about store policies. Irma needs to be trained and all employees need to be on the same page and be professional. Anyhow, she ended up doing the price match and the additional 5%. If they did price match, why should I have to drive elsewhere? All that and Brandon was right! It wasn’t all about the discount, it was the principle behind this.

Mom was Christmas shopping for the stepdad, heard how rude the manager was. Manager allowed other customers to harrass my mother, made every attempt to get her to buy something else in order to sell what my mother was going to buy to the rude customers, pointed out a no return policy if something is wrong, when nothing about no returns isn't on the receipt or Academy website. Incredibly Unprofessional from the management of the Hunting area. Don't like how the receipt doesn't have the name of the worker that did the sale.
